Patient Education - Trainer Activities & Myofunctional Exercises

5 of 6

The most important aspects of Myobrace Treatment is to motivate and encourage patients to improve their poor oral habits (poor myofunctional habits) that have caused their teeth to be crooked. Here are the three most important steps a patient must follow:

1. Lips together at all times except when speaking.

2. Breathe through the nose - to assist the development of the upper and lower jaws, and to achieve the correct bite.

3. No lip activity when swallowing - to allow the front teeth to develop correctly.

These steps are addressed through educational programs called Trainer Activities (for kids) and Myofunctional Exercises (for adults). These programs consist of a series of activities that re-train the oral muscles and help motivate the patient to improve their overall treatment outcome.
